Principles
• Fetal growth restriction(FGR) is the biggest risk factor for stillbirth.
• A principal aim of screening and surveillance is to detect FGR.
• Antenatal detection significantly reduces risk as it prompts further investigation, increased surveillance and timely delivery. 16
• Most instances of FGR are late onset and therefore surveillance should continue until delivery.
